PARTICIPATION OF CAMEROON IN THE 40th SESSION OF THE STANDING COMMITTEE FOR ECONOMIC AND COMMERCIAL COOPERATION OF THE ORGANISATION OF ISLAMIC COOPERATION (COMCEC)
On the Very High Instructions of H.E. the President of the Republic, a Cameroonian Delegation, led by H.E. PAUL ATANGA NJI, Minister of Territorial Administration, Personal Representative of the Head of State, participated in the 40th Session of the COMCEC, from 02 to 05 November 2024 in Istanbul.

The event, which was attended by more than 500 delegates, including 36 ministers and deputy ministers from 45 OIC member countries and 24 international organisations, focused on the theme: ‘The Digital Transformation of Payment Systems in OIC Member Countries’.

During the Ministerial Meeting which took place on the 04 November 2024 and chaired by H.E. RECCEP TAYYIP ERDOGAN, President of the Republic of Türkiye and Chairman of the COMCEC, the Representative of the Head of State, accompanied for the occasion by H. E. IYA TIDJANI, Cameroon's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and Head of Cameroon's Permanent Mission to the OIC, and H.E. VICTOR TCHATCHOUWO, Ambassador of Cameroon to Turkey, spoke on behalf of Cameroon, calling for a reinforced cooperation within the OIC to build and perpetuate peace in order to promote the development of OIC Member Countries.

He particularly renewed Cameroon's attachment to the values of the OIC, as well as the Government's commitment to work continuously towards achieving the above-mentioned objective, during Cameroon’s term of office as President of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, whose 50th session was hosted on 29 and 30 August 2024 in Yaoundé.
