The Minister of Commerce, H.E. LUC MAGLOIRE MBARGA ATANGANA, led the Cameroonian Delegation to the Third Turkey-Africa Economic and Business Forum which took place from the 21 to 22 of October 2021 in Istanbul, Turkey, under theme "Deepening Turkey-Africa Partnership: Trade, Investment, Technology and Logistics ".
Taking part in this important rendezvous were: African Ministers of Trade, Businessmen Associations, Heads of Companies / institutions and Investment Promotion Agencies, entrepreneurs, businessmen and Civil Society Organizations. The official ceremony of the said Forum took place on October 22, 2021, under the High Patronage of H.E. RECCEP TAYYIP ERDOGAN, President of the Republic of Turkey.
In addition to the central theme, several themes that affect economic and trade cooperation between Turkey and Africa on the partnership and investment opportunities in the fields of Agriculture and Fisheries, trade finance, Energy and Infrastructure, health, tourism and women's leadership in business were discussed throughout the Forum.
The Minister of Commerce while encouraging Turkish investors to seize the opportunities on the incentives for private investment in Cameroon also presented Cameroon’s standpoint during the discussions on the G2B theme: "Investment opportunities in the Agriculture and Fisheries sectors in Africa ", alongside his counterparts from Gabon, Burkina Faso and Mauritania, Congo-Brazzaville.
The overall objective of this Forum was not only to promote Turkish and African investments by analyzing trade and economic relations between the two partners but also to facilitate interaction between the two business communities and start a dialogue between Turkish and African businessmen and investors as well as with African Regional Economic Communities (RECs).
