Within the framework of developing Decentralized Cooperation between Cameroonian and Turkish Decentralized Territorial Communities (DTC), a Delegation of the United Councils and Cities of Cameroon (UCCC) led by its President, Mr. Augustin TAMBA, Mayor of the Yaoundé 7th District, carried out a prospecting mission in Turkey from April 25 to 29, 2022.
The purpose of the said mission was firstly to materialize the actions that were taken during the International Economic Days of Municipalities (JEICOM21) which took place from December 03 to 05, 2021 in Yaoundé, and secondly to strengthen Decentralized Cooperation between the Territorial Communities of our two countries.
Under the coordination and supervision of H.E. VICTOR TCHATCHOUWO, Ambassador of Cameroon to Turkey, the CVUC Delegation made several company visits to the cities of Mersin, Ankara and Antalya. They had a working session with the Association of Municipalities of Turkey (TBB), during which, the bases of a future frank collaboration between Cameroonian and Turkish Decentralized Territorial Communities through the establishment of a Cooperation Legal Framework and the creation of a working platform between CVUC and TBB were established.
The delegation equally visited the Headquarters of the Association of Independent Industrialists and Businessmen of Turkey (MUSIAD-Ankara), and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the city of Mersin (MTSO) where they had B2B meetings. The exchanges mainly focused on the Energy, Agricultural, Agri-food, Construction, Environmental and Urban Development sectors.
H.E. VICTOR TCHATCHOUWO, Ambassador of Cameroon to Turkey during the dinner offered in honour of the Members of the CVUC Delegation encouraged the Cameroonian Mayors to seize the opportunity of the assets and advantages offered by the Territorial Communities of the Republic of Turkey.
