As part of the activities geared at encouraging Turkish companies and institutions to invest in Cameroon H.E. VICTOR TCHATCHOUWO, Ambassador of Cameroon in Turkiye, carried out an economic mission in Istanbul from 1 to 5 June 2022.
The main aim of this mission was to take part in the joint meeting of the Cameroon Turkey Business Council (CTBC) and the Turkey-Cameroon Business Council (TCBC -DEIK) on the one hand and to meet the senior officials of certain Turkish Institutions and Enterprises on the other hand.
Regarding the working secession with the two Turkish-Cameroon Business Council (CTBC and TCBC -DEIK), which took place on Thursday, June 02, 2022, it permitted both structures to examine ways and means to revitalize their activities after a long period of silence due to the effects of COVID-19. It ended with a dinner hosted by the Head of the Diplomatic Mission in honour of the CTBC Business Delegation at Hilton Conrad Hotel.
As concerns the visits of the Turkish Institutions and Enterprises, H.E. the Ambassador respectfully met with the officials of the Union of Exporters of Turkey (TIM), the Chamber of Shippers of Turkey (TCS) and the Turkish Construction Company SUMMA.
In the meeting with the officials of the Union of Exporters of Turkey (TIM), the only umbrella organization of Turkish exports in charge of directing Turkey’s foreign trade, they examined conditions aimed at strengthening trade between Cameroon and Turkiye.
As of the meeting with the Chamber of Shippers of Turkey (TCS), the main organization representing the Turkish maritime sector with the mission to ensure the development of this sector, the two parties discussed the conditions for signing a cooperation agreement between the Chamber of Shippers of Turkiye (TCS) and the Cameroon National Shippers Council (CNCC).
With regards to the meeting with the Top Management of the Construction Company SUMMA, specialized in the realization of major construction projects in multiple sectors ranging from energy to real estate, the expression of interest in the rehabilitation of Cameroonian airports was the subject that was carefully taken into consideration as well as the construction of other Cameroonian infrastructures, particularly social housing projects.
