On the instructions of the Government, a Cameroonian Delegation led by H.E. VICTOR TCHATCHOUWO, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cameroon to Türkiye, took part in the Session of the High-Level Panel of Ministers of Agriculture on the theme "Preventing Food and Water Waste, Preserving Our Future," held from the 28th to the 29th of November 2025 in Istanbul.
The meeting, organised under the High Patronage of Her Excellency Mrs. EMINE ERDOGAN, First Lady of Türkiye, and in cooperation with the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the Zero Waste Foundation, not only facilitated the exchange of knowledge and best practices, but also strengthened international cooperation, leading to the development of concrete policy recommendations in line with the Zero Waste approach and the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
During these proceedings, chaired by Her Excellency Mrs. EMINE ERDOGAN, First Lady of Türkiye and Honorary President of the Zero Waste Foundation, His Excellency the Ambassador, accompanied for the occasion by Mr. NKWAH AKONGNWI NGWA, First Secretary at AMBACAM/ANKARA, spoke on behalf of Cameroon, highlighting the key principles of sustainable development enshrined in Cameroonian waste management regulations and calling for a strengthened cooperation and concerted action by all international stakeholders to tackle the complex problem of food and water waste.
