“As a member country of the OIC, Cameroon took part in the Second Conference of OIC Transport Ministers, held  from the 11th to the 12th of February, 2026, in Istanbul-Türkiye, under the theme ”Strengthening Transport Connectivity to Deepen Fraternity among OIC Member States."

The Minister of Transport, Mr. NGALLE BIBEHE JEAN ERNEST MASSÉNA, led the Cameroonian Delegation.

During the proceedings, the Head of Delegation spoke on behalf of Cameroon, highlighting the country's national policies and challenges in the area of transport, while emphasizing, in line with other participants, the need to effectively launch the Dakar-Port Sudan Railway Construction Project, which also concerns Cameroon on the Ngaoundéré-N'Djamena section.

This participation also provided a framework for bilateral talks, which helped to enhance the event's prestige, notably with the Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Mr. ABDULKADIR URALOĞLU, and the Director General of the Turkish Chamber of Shipping, Mr. TAMER KIRAN.

The discussions focused on the state of bilateral cooperation with Türkiye in the field of transport in its various forms (air, sea, and related activities, including logistics infrastructure), as well as the prospects for strengthening this cooperation and new opportunities in the rail and land transport sectors, with the supply of passenger cars, support for the strengthening of the urban mass transit network, among other things.
